Traffic Incident at 2900 Eastex Freeway
September 17, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating a near fatal traffic accident at 2900
Eastex Freeway about 6:10 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 16).
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant
R.A. Gonzales and Officer J. Tippy reported:
The driver of a passenger vehicle, traveling
at a high rate of speed, struck the rear of an 18-wheeler as he
attempted a lane change. Freeway traffic was slowed due to rush
hour traffic at the time of the crash. The driver of the passenger
vehicle was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical
condition and was not expected to survive. There were no other
injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
