HPD Releases Composite of Sexual Assault Suspect
October 31, 2005 -- On Monday,
October 31, 2005, investigators with the Houston Police Department
Juvenile Sex Crimes Unit released a composite sketch of a sexual
assault from an incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 19,
2005.
According to Houston Police Department Sex Crimes
Investigator H.J. Ruiz, the victim, a 16-year-old black female
high school student, was walking home at around 5:30 p.m. when
a two-door black car drove up next to her. The suspect, described
as being a light complected black male, between 20 to 30 years
old, 5 feet 7 inches tall with wavy or curly hair, jumped out
of the car and grabbed her arm before picking her up and tossing
her in the car. The suspect locked the doors and drove to an abandoned
parking lot believed to be in the Almeda area and sexually assaulted
her.
After the assault, the suspect took the 16-year-old
to a near-by-convenient store and drove away. The victim called
her mother who picked her up and later drove her to LBJ Hospital.
The victim told investigators she did not know the suspect and
provided information that lead to the completion of a composite
sketch.
