Traffic Incident at 2300 Otto

October 29, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2300 Otto about 4:25 a.m. today (Oct. 29).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

H.P.D. Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer T.D. Houston reported:

A small Mercury van occupied by two males was southbound on Alcorn and attempted to make a left turn onto Otto. The driver loss control of the vehicle and struck a concrete culvert head-on, killing his passenger. He was arrested for suspicion of intoxication manslaughter. No other vehicles were involved.

The investigation is continuing.
