Incident at 8800 South Braeswood #709

October 12, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a woman found at 8800 South Braeswood #709 about 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 11).

The identity of the victim, 31, has not been released pending notification to her family members.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants D.A. Ferguson and T.C. Bloyd reported:

An employee at the apartment complex at 8800 South Braeswood detected a strong odor coming from the victim's apartment. When the employee knocked on the door and did not receive a response, the employee entered the apartment and found the woman dead. It appeared the woman had been dead for several days because her body was decomposed.

The Harris County Medical Examiner's office is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
