Update on Incident at 1018 Redondo
October 11, 2005 -- Houston
police homicide investigators have released a composite
sketch of one of two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting
of one man and wounding of another at 1018 Redondo about 11:45
p.m. on October 1.
The deceased victim is identified as Jose Luis
Jasso, 49, of 1018 Redondo. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds
and was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male victim, shot
in both legs, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in
stable condition.
The suspects are described as Hispanic males
in their early 20s. The shooter is about 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10
inches tall and the second suspect is about 5 feet 5 inches tall.
Both suspects are believed to weigh 120 to 130 pounds. A composite
sketch of the shooter is attached to this news release.

J. Selvera, P. Yochum and R. Chappell reported:
The surviving victim and another witness stated
that Mr. Jasso had gone outside to look for his cat when he confronted
two unknown males who were apparently trying to steal a bicycle
from the carport. The suspects demanded the bike or a ride. Jasso
told them he could not give them a ride and an argument ensued.
The surviving victim and the witness went outside to help Jasso.
At that time, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and started
shooting.
