Traffic Incident at Canal at Navigation

October 10, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at the intersection of Canal at Navigation about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 9).

The name of the deceased female victim has not been released.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer I.M. Labdi reported:

The victim was a passenger in a Dodge Caravan traveling at a high rate of speed westbound in the 2200 block of Canal Street. The vehicle went off the road and struck a building. One female passenger was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital and three other persons inside the car were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with serious injuries.
