Incident at 2205 Hayes #5215

November 27, 2005 -- The fatal shooting of a child at 2205 Hayes #5215 about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday (November 26) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The victim, a 13 year old child, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.J. Grysen and Officer T. Hufstedler reported:

The victim was sitting inside his residence when a single shot came through the wall and struck him in the head. A resident in an adjacent apartment had reportedly been unloading a shotgun when it discharged, going through two walls before striking the victim. No charges are being filed at this time.
