Incident at 3603 Christie

November 12, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3603 Christie about 8:30 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 11).

The victim is identified as Garren Paul Edwards, 20, of 5223 Forest Timbers in Humble. He suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.W. McStravick and Officer R.W. Chappell reported:

Witnesses reported last seeing Garren Edwards talking to a black female with the first name of "Carmen" and three other black males prior to the shooting. "Carmen" was seen driving away in a black 1999-2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported Edwards to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.
