Traffic Incident at 6700 South Loop East

May 17, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6700 South Loop East on Monday (May 16) about 10:45 p.m.

The victim has been identified as Yolanda Espinosa, of 1209 Bernard in Pasadena, Texas.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R. R. Schweiker and Officer I. M. Labdi reported:

Espinosa and her boyfriend were arguing on the south side of the freeway when she attempted to run across the freeway. She was struck by a 1999 Kia and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia, who was not injured, remained at the scene until officers arrived. No charges were filed against the driver of the vehicle.
