Update on Incident at 2511 Brewster Street
March 3, 2005 -- A suspect has
been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of two men at
2511 Brewster Street about 7:45 a.m. on February 2.
The suspect, identified as Carlton Spencer Samuel
(b/m, DOB 6-30-84), is charged with capital murder in the 177th
State District Court. He is accused in the killings of Shawn Hampton,
28, of 3700 Market Street and Ricky Earl Wynn, 25, of 10400 Greens
Crossing. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S.R. Kennedy and
Officer T.W. Miller reported:
Both victims were at the home of Shawn Hampton's
girlfriend when two unidentified black males, believed to be acquainted
with the group, arrived in an unknown type of vehicle. After a
short visit and for reasons yet to be determined, the two males
shot both victims. Preliminary information indicates the incident
may have been related to drug activity.
With assistance from the Leon County Sheriff's
Department, investigators located Samuel and executed an arrest
warrant at his parents home in Centerville, TX, on Wednesday (Mar.
2). Samuel was found in that home hiding under some sheets. HPD
homicide investigators drove to Centerville and transported Samuel
