Incident at 4900 Polk
June 11, 2005 -- Houston and
Metro Transit Authority police officers have arrested a suspect
in the fatal stabbing of a man at 4900 Polk about 5:25 p.m. on
Friday (June 10).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification
by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He suffered multiple
stab wounds to the chest and was transported to Ben Taub General
Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect, Richard Marrquin Recio (H/m DOB:
6-16-65) was arrested at the scene and charged with murder in
the 174th State District Court.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. J. Grysen and
Officer D. R. Shorten reported:
Metro Police Department officers observed a fight
in a parking lot at 4900 Polk. Once the males were separated,
officers determined one had been stabbed. Metro officers called
for an ambulance and the assistance of HPD officers. According
to witnesses, the victim and Recio were involved in an ongoing
dispute, which escalated into a physical altercation.
