Traffic Incident at 6800 Hornwood

July 31, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6800 block of Hornwood about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2005.

The victim and single occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after the accident.

HPD Traffic Division Sergeant D. Runyan and Officer R. Stafford reported:

According to the witnesses, a late model Pontiac Grand-Am was traveling northbound on the Southwest Freeway Service Road. The vehicle turned right onto Hornwood and swerved far to the left side of Hornwood. The vehicle overcorrected and lost control ending up overturned on the south side of the street in the grass.

Investigation to continue.
