Traffic Incident at Hillcroft at Clarewood
July 23, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Hillcroft at Clarewood
about 4:25 a.m. today (July 23).
The identity of the deceased victim is pending
notification to the next of kin and an autopsy by the Harris County
Medical Examiner's office.

D. S. Runyan and Officer S. Martinez reported:
The deceased male was driving a white four-door
sedan westbound on Clarewood and failed to yield the right of
way when leaving the stop sign at Clarewood and Hillcroft. The
vehicle was struck by a pickup truck traveling northbound on Hillcroft.
Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of
the sedan dead. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured;
however, he was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while
intoxicated. A passenger in the pickup returned to the scene after
initially fleeing the accident.
The investigation is continuing.
