Traffic Incident at 10800 Katy Freeway

July 14, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10800 Katy Freeway about 6 a.m. today (July 14).

The identity of the deceased driver has not been released pending notification of family members.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.R. Hurd and Officer R. Palomo reported:

A vehicle was stalled in a moving lane of traffic westbound on the Katy Freeway. Three separate vehicles stopped behind the stalled vehicle. Another vehicle, a truck, struck the rear of one of the three vehicles and caused a chain reaction accident. The victim was the driver of the vehicle struck by the truck.
