Traffic Incident at 1200 North Eldridge Parkway

February 22, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1200 North Eldridge Parkway about 2:40 a.m. today (Feb. 22).

The deceased male victim was identified as Jody Cantrell, 38.

HPD Traffic Division Sergeant T.D. McCabe and Officer D.J. Gutierrez reported:

Cantrell was riding his motorcycle, a Harley Davidson, at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the bike. Cantrell, who was not wearing a helmet, fell off the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Harris County Medical Examiner's office will conduct toxicology tests to determine if alcohol played a factor in the fatality.
