Traffic Incident at Collingsworth and Hardy
December 28, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred
at Collingsworth and Hardy about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December
27, 2005.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Lieutenant
H. Zamora and Officer D. Ertons reported:
The driver of a white Ford pickup truck traveling
southbound on Hardy near Collingsworth ran the red light at the
intersection striking a white and gray SBC telephone truck on
the passenger side. The telephone truck driver was ejected and
pronounced dead at the scene. After striking the SBC truck, the
white Ford truck struck a silver Toyota passenger vehicle traveling
eastbound on Collingsworth.
The identity of the deceased male victim is pending
verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. The
driver of the Toyota and her passenger were transported to Memorial
Hermann Northwest Hospital. The driver of the white Ford truck
and his passenger were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital
with unknown injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
