Incident at 3300 West Sam Houston Parkway South
December 17, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3300 West
Sam Houston Parkway South about 4:20 a.m. today (Dec. 17).
The victim is identified as Jack Jabocy Griffin,
20, of 685 North Galvez Street in New Orleans, Louisanna. He suffered
multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.W. McStravick
and Officer B.D. Evans reported:
HPD officers responded to the scene of a shooting
at 10440 South and were advised that Mr. Griffin and two other
occupants were in a vehicle at the intersection of West Sam Houston
Parkway South and Richmond when another vehicle, possibly a Lexus,
approached them and began shooting. Griffin was struck several
times and died at the scene.
While investigating the 10440 South scene, investigators
were advised of the discovery of an abandoned vehicle possibly
matching the description of the suspect's vehicle. The vehicle
was found at the intersection of Richmond and the West Sam Houston
Parkway South and appears to have been abandoned after being involved
in an accident at that location. Investigators are uncertain as
to whether the recovered vehicle is the one involved in incident
on South.
Investigators are also investigation the possibility
that this incident might be related to another shooting which
occurred at the Strokers Pool Hall at 9373 Richmond earlier in
the evening.
