Traffic Incident at Reed Road and Coffee

December 12, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Reed Road and Coffee about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2005.

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant H. M. Garcia and Officer R. S. Kessler reported:

The female was riding a motorcycle eastbound of Reed Road when she struck the passenger side of an oncoming vehicle turning southbound on Coffee. The female was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on a cyclone fence. After the initial impact, the vehicle veered in the same direction and struck the female. There were two people in the car transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with minor injuries. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
