Traffic Incident at 8500 Gulf Freeway
December 10, 2005 -- Charges
of intoxication manslaughter are pending against a suspect involved
in a fatal traffic accident at 8500 Gulf Freeway about 12:15 a.m.
today (Dec. 10).
The suspect is identified as Thomas Roy Kennedy
(w/m, DOB 8/5/86).
The identities of the two deceased 12-year-old
female victims are pending verification by the Harris County Medical
Examiner's office.

D.S. Runyan and Officer S. Martinez reported:
The 17-year-old driver of a late-model Chevrolet
Cavalier was stopped in the southbound right-hand emergency lane
after running out of fuel. Witnesses reported that the driver
of a late-model Ford F-150 pickup, traveling southbound on the
Gulf Freeway, suddenly swerved across several lanes of traffic
and struck the rear of the disabled vehicle. Two 12-year-old female
rear seat passengers of the disabled Chevrolet were pronounced
dead at the scene. Another 12-year-old, a male rear seat Chevrolet
passenger, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical
condition. The 17-year-old driver of the disabled Chevrolet was
transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition
and his 14-year-old female front seat
passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital
in an unknown
condition.
The driver of the Ford F-150 is suspected of
being intoxicated. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital
with minor injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
