Traffic Incident at Ewing and Crawford

December 8, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the apparent suicide of a man in a fatal traffic accident at Ewing and Crawford about 8:05 a.m. today (Dec. 8).

The deceased male's identity is unknown at this time.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. R. Hurd and Officer D. S. Schlichter reported:

The male, about 25 years of age, was walking west on the south side of Ewing at Crawford. As a 1994 blue Mack dump truck approached the intersection, the man dove under the vehicle's rear wheels. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been filed against the driver of the truck.

The investigation is continuing.
