Update on Incident at 5900 Point West

August 25, 2005 -- Houston police have learned the identity of a woman found deceased at 5900 Point West about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 24).

The victim has been identified as Lydia Hicks, 44, of 11700 Bissonnet. She suffered blunt trauma to the head and a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L. A. Flores and Officer P. T. Yochum reported:

A witness discovered the body of Lydia Hicks in the 5900 block of Point West. Houston police officers and HFD paramedics responded to the scene and determined that the victim was deceased. There are no known suspects at this time; however, a suspicious small, silver 4-door vehicle was seen driving away from the scene.
