Incident at 213 S. 75th

August 19, 2005 -- The fatal shooting of an aggravated robbery suspect at 213 S. 75th #4 about 11:20 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 18) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the suspect is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HAD Homicide Division Sergeant L. A. Flores and Officer I. F. Flores Jr. reported:

The deceased suspect and possibly two other male suspects went to an apartment at 213 S. 75th and demanded to speak to an individual who did not live there. When denied access, the suspects kicked in the front door of the apartment and one of them fired a shot from a shotgun. The 46-year-old homeowner returned fire and struck one of the suspects who fell to foot of the stairs outside of the apartment and died. The other suspects fled the scene.
