Traffic Incident at 9400 East Freeway

August 15, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal accident at 9400 East Freeway on the ramp to the westbound loop on August 14, 2005 about 11:30 p.m.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant T.D. McCabe and Officer T.D. Houston and I.M. Labdi reported:

An unidentified male was struck by Chevrolet pick up while walking in the middle of the ramp. The driver of the Chevrolet saw the pedestrian and tried unsuccessfully to avoid him. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Eyewitnesses confirm these details. There were no signs of impairment on the part of the Chevy driver.
