Incident at 1015 Country Place
August 15, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1015 Country
Place about 10:15 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 14).
The identity on the male victim, 59, is pending
notification to next of kin by the Harris County Medical Examiner's
office. He suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was pronounced
dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. J. Grysen and
Officer D. R. Shorten reported:
Houston police responded to a call regarding
an on-going domestic disturbance between the victim and his girlfriend.
During the altercation, a gun was produced and the victim was
shot in the face. The girlfriend, 60, stated they were struggling
over the weapon when it discharged. It is unknown at this time
who actually fired the weapon during the struggle. No charges
have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing.
This case will be referred to the Harris County
District Attorney's office for further review.
