Incident at 6005 South Gessner
August 6, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6005 South Gessner
about 12:30 a.m. today (Aug. 6).
The identity of the victim is pending verification
by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He suffered a
gunshot wound to the back and was transported the Ben Taub General
Hospital where he later died.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. McStravick
and L. A. Flores and Officer I. F. Flores Jr. reported:
The victim and several friends were in the parking
lot of an apartment complex when they were approached and robbed
by two Hispanic males armed with a knife and a gun. As the suspects
fled the scene, one of them fired a shot at the victims, striking
the deceased victim in the back. The suspects drove off in one
of the victim's 1992 blue Toyota Corolla, Texas license plate
#323-DYN.
Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male, approximately
22 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 170-180
pounds. Suspect #2 was approximately 18 years of age, 5 feet tall
and weighing 130-140 pounds. Both suspects had light complexions,
wore dark clothing and had shaved heads.
