Incident at 7535 Weyburn

August 3, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men and a woman at 7535 Weyburn on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 about 10:40 a.m.

One of the deceased victims, Rosa Rena, 65, sustained a gunshot wound to the torso. The other deceased victim is identified as her son, Mike Rena, 45. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim was transported to the hospital and he is expected to live.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Kennedy and Sergeant L. Flores reported:

Two unknown black male suspects, who were armed, forced entry into the residence where the Rena's lived. Mother and son were shot and pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim was transported to the hospital.

The motive of the entry appears to have been robbery. Drugs and money were probably stolen. Over 80 pounds of marijuana were found in the residence during the scene investigation.
