Traffic Incident at 4800 McCarty

April 30, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4800 Mc Carty about 8:30 p.m. Friday (April 29).

The victim, Alfonso Martinez, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant N. Nguyen and Officer D. Ertons reported:

A motorist who was driving a tan Chrysler Town and Country van northbound in the 4800 block of Mc Carty struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk. The driver of the van has not been charged with any wrongdoing at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
