Update on Incident at 8811 Boone #1101

April 10, 2005 -- Charges have been filed in the death of a 6 month old baby at 8811 Boone #1101 on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, about 4 p.m.

The suspect/mother, Shantia Jackson (b/f DOB: 8-31-81), has been charged with capital murder in the 185th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Parker and Officer C. Park reported:

A 6-month-old baby, Jalen Jackson, who has a history of medical problems, was taken to the Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital emergency room by HFD. Jalen was having difficulty breathing. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.
