Traffic Incident at 17000 Katy Freeway
April 9, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 17000 Katy Freeway
today (April 9) about 2:30 a.m.
The identities on the deceased male and female
victims are unknown at this time.
HPD Traffic Division Sergeant D. S. Runyan and
Officer L. D. Ferguson reported:
A Ford Expedition was traveling eastbound on
the Katy Freeway at Barker-Cypress at a high rate of speed. The
driver of the vehicle lost control and rolled over several times
causing the ejection of the two victims who were killed instantly.
A Life Flight helicopter transported one male passenger to Memorial
Hermann Hospital in serious condition. Two additional passengers,
one male and one female, were transported by ambulance to Memorial
Hermann Hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time. All
victims were young adults in their late teens or early twenties.
Witnesses reported seeing the victim's vehicle
driving erratically just prior to the accident. Blood tests on
the driver are pending.
