Applications for the 2016 Major Thoroughfare and Freeway Plan (MTFP) amendment process are now available here!
All applications must be submitted by February 29, 2016.


Historic PreservationHouston Heights Historic Districts Design Guidelines
Work is underway for the creation of Design Guidelines for the East, West and South Houston Heights Historic Districts. For more information and updates go to the project page.


City to Update Houston Bike Plan

The Planning & Development Department (P&D) in coordination with the Public Works & Engineering Department and Houston Parks and Recreation Department is leading this comprehensive update to address the City’s current and future bicycling needs.

The City of Houston has updated its Bikeways website with new maps and links to make it more user friendly.

PLAN HOUSTONHouston adopted its first general plan known as Plan Houston. Plan Houston includes a vision and goals for Houston’s future, and the City’s strategies for achieving that vision.
