Shadow Lawn

Setting

The setting of a house – how it is located on and sized to fit a lot – should also be compatible with the rest of the historic district. Most homes in Shadow Lawn are two-and-a-half stories in height. Because of the irregular shapes and sizes of the lots in this neighborhood, the houses are set back from the street to different degrees. The placement of garages also varies, with some located behind the house and others to the side. A few newer garages are front loading. All are accessed via driveways.

When considering a building project within the Shadow Lawn Historic District, please refer to this chart. It shows which setting-related elements are compatible and which are not. Definitions of common terms can be found in the glossary.
