Proposed Amendments to Chapter 42
We need your input! A comment period on proposed amendments to Chapter 42 is now open until March 5th on the City of Houston’s Planning & Development Department website. These proposed changes are related to three areas:
- subdivision naming standards,
- public notification, and
- replats with notice requirements.
The proposed amendments will eliminate complex subdivision plat names and will ensure notification requirements are easy to understand and provide sufficient time for property owners and concerned citizens to prepare for the Planning Commission public hearing. The proposed amendments will also clarify requirements for replats and partial replats of subdivisions restricted to single-family residential use.
