Every summer, Council Member Karla Cisneros' TechConnect Program helps bridge the digital divide for kids living in District H. Through the Hire Houston Youth platform, Council Member Cisneros hires neighborhood youth to support younger neighborhood children by teaching technology and STEM, implementing library programming, and promoting literacy. Each year the program has grown considerably and Council Member Cisneros is working to double the size of the program in Summer 2019. TechConnect 2019 will be expanding to each District H park with a recreation center to supplement park programming with library programming – with an emphasis on tech skills. If you are interested in being a TechConnect Intern, applications will open in the spring through Hire Houston Youth. Questions? Call 832.393.3003.
