About Tiffany D. Thomas:
Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas is a second-term council member dedicated to serving the community with principled leadership. With a background rooted in community advocacy and public service, she brings a wealth of experience to her role as a Council Member and Chair of Housing and Affordability.
Biography:
Tiffany D. Thomas is a proud advocate for District F's people, including Alief, Briar Meadow, Piney Point, Tanglwilde, Westchase, and Westmont. With a deep-rooted passion for centering the people's priorities, she has dedicated her career to championing the needs of her constituents and ensuring their voices are heard at every level of governance – and, of course, results. Before assuming office, she worked tirelessly in various community-based roles, empowering marginalized communities and spearheading initiatives to address systemic inequalities related to healthcare, housing, economic development, and education. Her dedication to grassroots activism and previous role as an Alief ISD Trustee laid the foundation for her successful transition into more profound public service.
As a Council Member, she remains committed to uplifting all residents and has pronounced priorities: public safety, economic development, quality of life, and neighborhood revitalization. She marks her leadership with transparency, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to serving the best interests of her constituents and the city. She is a graduate of the Alief Independent School District, Sam Houston State University, and Prairie View A&M University, where she is an Assistant Professor of Community Development in the School of Architecture. She keeps her commitment to the greater community through the Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and the Houston (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
