A Missouri City police Department officer attempted to stop a reported stolen vehicle. The suspect refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a front yard of a residence. The suspect proceeded to evade on foot. While evading on foot, the suspect discharged his weapon multiple times, striking the officer twice. The officer was transported to Memorial Hermann hospital via patrol vehicle. The officer's injuries were non-life threatening. Additional officers engaged the suspect in a residence's back yard and the suspect discharged his weapon again. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect multiple times. The suspect was transported to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. No additional officers were injured in the secondary incident.
