Officers were dispatched to a Burg/Hab/In Prog after the complainant observed 3 suspects make forced entry through the front door of her apartment. The complainant immediately called 911 and then she called several family members in the area. The complainant's family arrived prior to police and observed the suspects had all fled the location. Officers arrived a short time later and encountered the complainant's family in the apartment. One of the family members was armed with a weapon and raised it towards police as they approached. Officers observed the weapon and discharged their firearm and struck the family member in the leg. The male was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.
