An HPD officer conducted a traffic stop and conducted a DWI investigation. The officer attempted to place the suspect under arrest and a physical altercation ensued. During this confrontation, the suspect was able to gain possession of the officer’s taser and pointed it at him. In fear of serious bodily injury or death, the officer fired multiple times striking the suspect. First aid was provided at the scene but the suspect was later pronounced deceased.
