HPD officers encountered a suspect armed with a machete and chasing a complainant in the roadway. The suspect ignored the officers’ commands and approached with the machete towards the officers who attempted to back away. When the suspect raised the weapon in a threatening manner and continued to advance on the officers, two officers shot the suspect multiple times. The suspect sustained non-life threatening injuries.
