Officers were conducting surveillance on a wanted suspect at the location. While conducting surveillance, officers observed the suspect leave his residence on foot and walk to a business. As the suspect was walking back to his apartment, officers attempted to take the suspect into custody. As a Houston Police Sergeant made contact with the suspect, he produced a weapon and fired a round towards the sergeant. The sergeant drew his weapon and fired several rounds striking the suspect. The suspect fell to the ground and was pronounced deceased at the location.
