Houston Police Department officers responded to an aggravated robbery in progress call. The responding sergeant arrived on scene and discovered the suspect locked inside the location. From the call slip, the sergeant had knowledge the suspect was armed with a knife. As a result, the sergeant gave the suspect verbal commands, but he was non-compliant. A secondary officer arrived on scene to assist the sergeant. The officer discharged his conductive energy device at the suspect, in an attempt to detain him. The CED had no effect due to the suspect's heavy jacket. When the suspect ran towards the sergeant and officer, the sergeant responded by discharging her duty weapon at the suspect. The suspect was not struck by the projectile and managed to evade from the location. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended. The suspect was charged with aggravated robbery. The officer nor the sergeant were injured during this incident.
