A Houston police Department officer attempted a traffic stop on the suspect. The suspect refused to stop and a chase began lasting approximately 30 minutes. The suspect then wrecked the vehicle on the road and exited the vehicle. The suspect advanced and began shooting at officers. Officers returned fire and the suspect was struck. The suspect was transported by life-flight and is in stable condition.
