Houston Police Department officers were dispatched to an Aggravated Assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had fled. The suspect was located and fled with a knife in hand. Officers chased the suspect into the location and gave commands to the suspect who refused to put his weapon down. The suspect repeatedly shouted to the officers, “Shoot me,” and charged toward the officers with a knife in his hand, despite the officers’ multiple attempts to peacefully deescalate the situation. The suspect ran again and once again charged at officers. Three officers discharged their weapons striking the suspect. The suspect was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
