Officers in Action

Officers J. Knox and A. Walters

Recently, officers J. Knox and A. Walters, assigned to the Midwest Patrol Division, were dispatched to a criminal mischief call at 6300 Windswept. The caller stated that suspects were shooting out car windows. When they arrived, the officers were flagged down by multiple people who said two males in a red vehicle were shooting at cars. Officer Knox gave this information out over the radio. At the same time, more calls were coming into dispatch about robberies in the area that had the same suspect description. Sergeants M. Roberts and J. Sanchez were in the area looking for the suspects and spotted them at a gas station at 6300 Windswept. As they started to approach the suspects, they were flagged down by a citizen who advised them that he had just been robbed by those two suspects and that the suspects were armed.

The sergeants conducted a traffic stop and took the two males into custody. Backup units arrived, and two handguns were found inside the suspects’ vehicle.

The two suspects were responsible for five aggravated robberies and one criminal mischief that evening. In addition to the two guns, officers recovered two knives, five cell phones, a wallet, and almost $2,000 cash.

Due to the high level of coordination, communication, and teamwork, these officers were able to take two violent offenders off the street and multiple charges of aggravated robbery were accepted by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office against the suspects.
