March 25, 2025 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10950 Tanner Park Court about 11 p.m. on Sunday (March 23).

The victim is identified as Joseph Thompson, 27.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective E. Camacho reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound in the parking lot.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Thompson deceased.  

A preliminary investigation and witness statements determined Thompson got into a verbal altercation with an unknown suspect before shots were fired.  The suspect was last seen running northbound across the apartment complex.
