March 24, 2025 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10100 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 6:40 a.m. on Saturday (March 22).  

The identity of the deceased female, 21, is pending verification by the Montgomery County Medical Examiner's Office.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Keita reported:  

The female, a pedestrian, was lying down in the lanes of the Eastex Freeway service road when she was struck by a tractor-trailer truck driving northbound on the service road.  At that time, the driver did not stop.  

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the female to HCA Kingwood Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the 18-wheeler later returned to the scene in his personal vehicle.  

No charges have been filed, as the investigation is continuing.
