Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9100 Westheimer Road

March 11, 2024 - Houston police have learned an infant critically injured in a crash that occurred at 9100 Westheimer Road about 2:15 a.m. on March 4 has died.

The victim, a 6-month-old girl, was pronounced deceased on Saturday (March 9).

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Fendia and Officer A. Mares reported:

A white Cherokee Jeep was traveling eastbound on Westheimer Road as a grey Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on Jeanetta Street.  The vehicles entered the intersection at the same time and the Jeep struck the Jetta.  

The Jetta's male driver, 33, a female passenger, 24, and the baby (passenger) were all transported to area hospitals.  The baby was in critical condition.  

At this time, it is unknown which driver ran the red light.  Neither driver showed signs of intoxication.

The investigation is ongoing.
