June 17, 2024 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile male and the wounding of a man at 9111 Lakes at 610 Drive about 8:40 p.m. on Sunday (June 16).

The identity of the deceased victim, 13, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other victim, 18, sustained a gunshot wound to the hand and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. Camacho and C. Davidson reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and were flagged down by a man with a gunshot wound to his hand. The male informed officers that his brother had also been shot. Officers were directed to the east side of the apartment complex, where they located the other male in the parking lot. Paramedics were called and pronounced him deceased at the scene.

It is believed the juvenile male and his brother had arranged a meeting with unknown suspects, who arrived in an older silver sedan. One or more suspect fired shots and fled the scene in the vehicle. The suspects are only described as being in their mid 20s.
