May 5, 2023 - The fatal shooting of a man at 8109 Hezekiah Street about 5 a.m. today (May 5) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.  

The identity of the deceased male, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

The female shooter, 37, was not injured.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Watson and M. Burrow reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the male deceased inside the residence.  He had suffered a gunshot wound.  The female shooter, known to the male, remained at the scene and told officers she was in fear for her life when she shot the male.  

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, it was determined the case would be referred to a grand jury for review.
