June 12, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 8300 Fuqua Street about 8:50 a.m. on Sunday (June 11).

The identity of the deceased female, 34, and deceased male, 37, are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer C. Morales reported:

The female was driving a maroon Volkswagn Tiguan eastbound on Fuqua at a high rate of speed when she left the roadway and drove across the median and into the westbound lanes. The driver continued across the westbound lanes, left the roadway on the opposite side and struck a tree. The female driver and male front seat passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

An eight year old girl was sitting in the backseat. She was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved in this crash. The investigation is on-going.
