June 12, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 7700 Tidwell Road about 1:55 a.m. on Sunday (June 11).

The identity of the deceased male, 46, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer T. Syed reported:

The female driver, 50, of a red Ford Explorer and her 17-year-old male passenger were traveling eastbound near the above address. The suspect was driving a blue Chevrolet Impala the wrong way westbound in the eastbound lanes of Tidwell and struck the front of the Explorer.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the Impala deceased. The driver and passenger in the Explorer were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
